Forest 404
Introduction
Forest 404 is a Podcast produced by the BBC. It is set in the 24th Century where forests have disappeared and Pan the main character finds a set of 21st Century recordings of rainforests and feels compelled to find out the truth. The Podcast stars Pearl Mackie, Tanya Moodie and Pippa Haywood with original music by Bonobo and is an immersive sci-fi thriller.
The idea behind the mini project was to get involved with the styling and the shopping for the series instead of making the garments. So the brief stated that the garments came from pre-existing ones, source the clothing from a variety of places and to design for 3 charcters. The episodes I chose to design for was "A New Leaf" and "Future Conditional" as I felt that these two episodes had more information to design for.
Pan
All of the ideas that I had for Pan's character and this is how I am interpreting everything that was described. I decided to design for two episodes and chose a part where Pan got shot and then had to be "stitched and patched back together like a fridge or laptop." This made me think about my own surgery scar on my knee so on the mood board I have placed a scar and bullet wound.
I designed Pan the way I have as from the descriptions given in the Podcast she has "Brain input and output ports." This suggested that she isn't a proper human as she has copied emotions such as "sadness and getting offended." Theia claims that Pan doesn't have any Human DNA so is she really human or a Robot/Cyborg?
A brand board of all the places I could see Pan shopping at for her clothing. I could see these brands being in the 24th Century and as Pan's job requires her using a computer, she would be good at ordering online if she was bothered about doing it.

Theia
Some ideas for how I see Theia's character. She is describe ad being small and a Hermit with crinkly hands so I got an image to portray that. I see Theia as a strong character who can take care of herself and she knows how to survive.
Theia is more down with Nature so her colour palette is to do with nature colours and I have given her clothing that represents that she could have been good at combat when she was younger. I gave her some accessories as they were mentioned throughout the episodes I'd chosen.
Theia could shop at any of these places when she was younger and they could still be around in her life time. I wanted her to have clothing that would be comfortable to move around in.

Research and General Mood Board
Part of the summer homework was to create a mini project for "Forest 404." This included researching the audience for the BBC and who was involved in the making of the podcast.
Layered a bunch of images together to create a general theme for the project. I wanted to show where each of the characters would live in my own interpretation. I see this project as an opportunity to get creative and use Photoshop in a way I haven't before.

Daria
I see Daria's character wearing these types of garments and accessories. She was described as having "Video tape hair" when she was a teenager so is Daria human herself or is she like Pan? It was also described in the podcast that Daria had a phone so I could imagine that she had one on her suit or in her pocket.
Daria's colour palette is in the type of colours an agent would probably wear. The description of her said that she was "smart, crimp and correct" so I see her character as wearing smart tailored suits or a catsuit type garment. Daria also has a "Brain input and output ports" which suggests that Daria and Pan are not so different.
I think that Daria would wear more designer clothes as well as shopping at other shops. Her character seems to have a lot of distaste for a lot of things so this is what i'd imagine she would do.
